My homework philosophy is simple. I use it to reinforce daily classroom learning. Homework will not be new learning. My homework reinforces existing skills and knowledge. If there are any concerns, from parent or student, please write a note in your child's daily planner and I will address it at school.
Students will turn in homework on a daily basis. As the year progresses, they will be expected to manage special projects along with their ordinary workload. Accountability and responsibility for organization and planning will be vital to your student's success. All students are expected to turn in completed assignments on time.

Reading: Daily Reading Log
Reading is the most important thing you can do at home with your child. Please encourage them to find material that they enjoy so that reading becomes natural and not a forced task. Each student will be required to read at home daily for at least 20 minutes (or more). Your child will be responsible for bringing their Reading Log back and forth between school and home daily. If a reading log is not returned, the student will need to read in the classroom during lunch. |

Postcards Across America Project
Help us to see America this year through postcards! Our goal is to receive a postcard from all 50 states! Attached to the left is the letter we sent our initially in case you wanted the file electronically so you can email it to friends and family. If you would like another copy to send via snail-mail, see Mrs. Forster and she will print out a copy. |
